How Can rapid Heart Rate And Fatigue be Treated?

My 20 year old daughter is at college and is having heart rate of 100, fatigue with walking pain under rib cage, fever on/off of 100+. this has been for over a week, also is very thirsty at night. She went to the ER and they said it might be the flu, did a urinalysis and sent her home. She is seeing a NP today, I would like to know what tests they should run. she is a healthy active person normally with no medical conditions.

Hi,

If her symptoms have been for less then 10 days very likely they might not order tests at all as the flu might take up to 10 days to heal.

If the symptoms are there for more then 10 days or they notice any abnormality while they examine your doctor, then they might ask for a CBC, ERS or CRP, and a chest x-ray. Other tests might be ordered if these are abnormal or if they think she will need to be admitted in hospital.
